ReefRoutine is a logbook for reef aquariums. This policy describes what the app does with your information. In short: your records stay on your device unless you turn on Cloud Sync, there are no ads, and nothing tracks you.
Your records stay on your device
Aquariums, water-test readings, maintenance and dosing entries, tasks, livestock, equipment and photos are stored in the app on your device. You don't need an account, and unless you turn on Cloud Sync nothing is uploaded.
Cloud Sync (optional)
Cloud Sync is part of Reef Pro. If you sign in to it:
- We store your email address, an optional display name you choose, and a copy of your aquarium records and photos, so they appear on your other devices and for the people in your household.
- Sign-in uses one-time codes sent to your email. There are no passwords.
- People in your household see your email address and display name, and which records you added.
- The data is hosted by Supabase in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden) and encrypted in transit.
- Signing out stops syncing. Synced records are kept until you delete them or your account.
Purchases
Reef Pro is sold through Apple's App Store or Google Play, which handle payment. Purchases are verified through RevenueCat, Inc., our subscription provider. RevenueCat receives an app user ID (your Cloud Sync account ID if you are signed in, otherwise an anonymous ID), your purchase receipts and basic device information such as the operating system and app version. It receives no aquarium data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
No ads, no tracking
ReefRoutine contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and we never sell or share your data.
Notifications, camera and photos
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to add a photo. Photos are copied into the app's private storage and, with Cloud Sync on, uploaded to your household's private storage.
Export, backup and deletion
Export and backup files are created only when you ask, and you choose where they go. Deleting a record removes it from the app and, with Cloud Sync on, from your household's synced copy. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. To delete your Cloud Sync account, see Delete your account.
Your rights
You can access, export, correct and delete your data in the app at any time. You can also contact us to ask for a copy of what we store about you or to have it deleted. If you are in the EU or EEA, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
ReefRoutine is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page with a new date.
